HE Dr Godfrey Gandawa, PhD

Dr. Godfrey Gandawa is the visionary founding president of Springfield Research University (SRU). He leads SRU’s esteemed university system, encompassing three campuses, five faculties, three centers of excellence, the Law Clinic, and the Biomedical Clinic.
Dr. Gandawa is a renowned scientist, biomedical researcher, technologist, business consultant, and digital transformation advisor. His extensive expertise spans technical business analysis, biological sciences, artificial intelligence, homeland security, project management, policy, training, and strategic management. In addition to his leadership role, Dr. Gandawa is as a professor of artificial intelligence, an adjunct professor in biological sciences and homeland security, and a defense contractor.
As the chief executive officer, Dr. Gandawa is accountable to the Board of Trustees. He operates within the policies and regulations of the Board and other state and government authorities. He holds general authority and responsibility for the University, ensuring the Board of Trustees is kept informed about the University’s progress in a timely and appropriate manner. Dr. Gandawa exemplifies the leadership skills essential for the dynamic pursuit of the University's mission. He comprehends the higher education needs of the University’s service region, collaborates with the Board to develop strategic proposals, and provides leadership to foster synergy between the campus and community in fulfilling the University’s teaching, research, and public service responsibilities.
